our ordering and manufacturing process

  • ken berger
    ken berger

Ken Berger is the person you will most likely speak with first when ordering from our company. Ken collects all the information about what your precast concrete needs are, and then coordinates with our draftsman, carpenter, and production manager to determine production timing and costs for any custom work. Ken also calculates pricing for custom coloring, texturing, sealing, and any freight fees for product delivery. Once Ken has worked up all the pricing for an order he will send you an official estimate to sign and return to order your products.

  • Curt Deichman
    Curt Deichman

If your precast concrete order includes custom dimensions of any kind, or technical shop drawings and submittals, our draftsman Curt will be handling all of these technical details. Curt communicates frequently with customers, and works directly with our Project Manager, J.R. Brailsford, to ensure that all measurements are accounted for and precise so that all the products we produce are exactly what you requested. Once the custom technical drawings have been approved by you, they are passed along to our carpenter for mold and model creation.

  • fili Salazar
    fili Salazar

Fili is our molds and models expert. When he receives the technical drawings for a custom order, he works with his team to create the actual molds that we will be pouring the concrete into. While many of our molds are constructed primarily of specialized wooden components, we also often use custom- created rubber, foam, fiberglass, and other materials to get all of the detailed finishing touches that really showcase why our precast is the best in the industry.

  • jerame Martindale

Whether you’ve placed a custom order or you are requesting items from our catalog that we carry stock molds for, Jerame oversees the actual pouring and production process. Jerame also ensures that products are custom-colored as ordered, and that any internal sealer requested is included. Once the parts have adequately set and been removed from the molds, Jerame performs quality inspections on all pieces and determines whether each product is up to our standards or if it needs to be remade.

    APA certifications

Built upon concepts of integrity, service, and continual improvement, we have always pushed ourselves to produce the finest
and strongest cast stone available on the market.

Obtaining and maintaining APA Certification is no small feat. Each plant undergoes two unannounced inspections per year, which span an entire casting cycle and cover well over one hundred check points. Each check point is graded as pass/fail (APA does not recognize partial credit). In fact, a plant will immediately fail if it cannot pass each of more than twenty mandatory items which encompass highly critical areas of personnel, record keeping and shop drawings and will have its Certificate of Certification withdrawn immediately. There is no grace period; therefore, a plant cannot continue to function as a certified plant. The modifications to its quality control procedures must be accomplished and verified by another inspection before certification status is re-instated.

The APA also requires each Certified Plant to hold Level I and II Quality Control Personnel designations, which cover precast and architectural precast products, whereas other certification program designations are limited exclusively to prestressed concrete. In addition, the APA Plant Certification Program is the only inspection program that requires the person who mixes your concrete to pass a rigorous competency examination to achieve the designation of Certified Central Mix Batch Plant Operator. See below for more details on the certification process.
